How Fast Is Sonic The Hegehog? - First announced in March 2017, the Xperia L1 has come to replace Sony’s now discontinued E series. Priced at a surprisingly cheap £169, the L1 is Sony’s newest attempt at shaking up the budget phone market. Its large screen and sleek design make us think of Sony’s higher range of smartphones: it would be hard to single it out as the cheapest model in a line of Xperias. But at such a bargain price, we can’t expect it to perform as well as its more expensive counterparts. So how does the L1 hold up to other low-budget smartphones? Here’s our Xperia L1 review. first time the View branding, well we have collected a lot of data from the field directly and from many other blogs so very complete his discussion here about How Fast Is Sonic The Hegehog?, on this blog we also have to provide the latest automotive information from all the brands associated with the automobile. ok please continue reading:
We've been lied to. How fast is Sonic? Not as fast as you think.
For this we're going with video game Sonic. To determine how fast he runs, we have to find out his height. According to Wiki sites, he's ~1 meter (3 ft. 3 in.). I could just stop here, but we all know how trustworthy Wikipedia is. So, for a more accurate answer, we turn to Sonic 2006!
*record scratch*
I waited through one of the worst games ever made to bring you accurate information one one of your favorite video game characters. Now that's dedication.
In this game, Sonic has a girlfriend named Alicia, and she stands at 63 inches. Comparing their heights, we can find out Sonic is a 27/40 of her height, or 3 foot 7 inches. Take that Wiki Answers!
Knowing how tall he is, we can have a sense of scale. Using Sonic as our size reference, we can find out that Green Hill Zone (Act 1) is 236 Sonics long, or about 259.6 meters. World Record for finishing this stage is 25 seconds, meaning Sonic would be traveling about 10 m/s.
10 m/s is pretty fast, but no where close to the sound barrier, which is 240.9 m/s.
If Sonic truly was running around at the speed of sound, then he'd finish a COURSE AND A HALF in one second. The speed run for the entire first Sonic game would be less than a minute long. Even if he was wearing his speed shoe power up, which triples his running speed, he wouldn't even be running at a thirtieth of the sound barrier. Now lets compare with his rival, Mario. Using our last video, we found out that Peach is 5' 10", and Un-Super Mario is 4' 8". Not only is he as tall as an Oompa Loompa, unfortunately for him, that's also how wide he is. Using Mario as a size reference, it takes 96 Marios to get to the first warp pipe, meaning that's 98.1 meters. Record time of getting there is five seconds, meaning Mario is running at 20 m/s. That's TWICE the speed of Sonic in his first game. Lets make this perfectly clear, in both of their first games, Mario is faster than Sonic. Needless to say, Sonic isn't the fastest thing ali-i-ive. But lets give the guy a break, shall we? He was just getting warmed up in his first games. In Sonic Unleashed, there is a stage with a speed meter, telling you when he's at full velocity. In the stage Skyscraper Scamper, you start at full speed with maximum ring energy. If we're to believe the developers, this is as fast Sonic can get. Here's how far he travels in a second.
GO!
Did you miss it? Here it is again.
GO!
To get a better picture let's s l o w t h i n g s d o w n .
Notice how he travels the length of one large building. Also, this city is called Empire City, so it's safe to say that this is modeled off of the Empire State - New York. In fact, I can call out the same building he runs past, as I use to live one block away from it.
The city block of 14th Street is 1/5 of a mile by 1/20 of a mile. If Sonic was running the long part of that block, he would come close to breaking the sound barrier, as he would be traveling 321 m/s. But notice that Sonic is running on the shorter edge of the building, meaning that he is running 80 m/s. Faster than before, but still a fourth of the speed of sound. But I can hear you guys saying,
"But what about the light shoes, that give him the chance to run at the speed of light?"
Being generous, those moments are actually SLOWER than his top speed. The power of those shoes are greatly overrated. Or how about the time when Sonic has all six chaos emeralds, and totally doesn't turn into a shameless ripoff of Super Saiyen mode. Even if he is at full power and shot through a speed booster, he isn't even close to the 340 m/s of the sound barrier.
In short, no power up, booster, or track can get Sonic to even half of the speed of sound.
Even more embarrassing is, he isn't even the fastest character in his own game?
Who is it? I would say Tails, but she has some crazy teleporting skills, that I'm not going to talk about. But, it's Doctor Robotnik. In all of his games, Sonic can't catch him in a footrace, in fact, in this short time, Eggman reaches 60 MPH in a quarter of a second! That's faster than the fastest accelerating car, which is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which reaches top speed in 2 seconds! Not bad for a man that weighs 282 lbs.!
