Windows Phone 8.1 Cyan arrived on the Lumia 1020 and the Lumia 920 last month, and now Lumia 520 users are reporting the long-awaited update is available to download. According to Nokia’s update schedule, devices on most carriers — Rogers, TELUS, Chatr and Koodo — can expect to see a pop up notification with the update.
This update brings new features for Nokia Camera, Creative Studio, Word Flow, Action Centre, and Device Hub, as well as an additional column of Live Tiles on your Start screen. While Microsoft’s voice assistant Cortana is missing from this update (that should roll out with Windows Phone 8.1 GDR 1), enterprising Canadians can enable it themselves with a some tweaking.
Lumia 520 users that have yet to see the update notification can check for availability via Settings –> Phone Update –> Check for Updates.
